Overview of padding mill
The padding machine is one of the four major units of dyeing and finishing equipment: padding, washing, drying and steaming. According to the shape of the finished fabric, it can be divided into two categories: rope padding machine and flat-width padding machine. This chapter mainly introduces the flat-width padding machine.
Open-width padding machines are widely used in the wet treatment of fabrics in pre-processing, coloring, printing, finishing and other finishing processes. The open-width padding machine consists of main parts such as a rolling car, a rolling tank and a transmission device. It can be divided into two categories according to its use. One type is used to remove excess moisture from fabrics and reduce energy consumption during drying. This type of padding machine is usually installed in front of the dryer and is called a water pad. There are also a large number of water pads installed on the flat surface. In the middle of each washing unit of the width washing tank, multiple dipping and multi-rolling are realized to improve the cleaning effect. The main technical requirement of the water pad is to minimize the padding rate of the fabric without damaging the fabric being processed. The other type involves padding chemicals, dyes, resins and other finishing agents in the processes of scouring and bleaching, silk finishing, coloring, and finishing to give the fabric a certain padding rate and make it uniform. Distributed in the fabric, it is called a mangle. Its main technical requirements are to make the fabric padding solution uniform and maintain a certain padding ratio.
The line speed of the padding mill depends on the process requirements, generally 30~80m/min. In some cases, the line speed can reach 120~140m/min. The power depends on the line speed, pressure and machine model, generally between 1 and 10kW. The width of the roll surface of the open-width padding machine is available in several specifications: 1100mm, 1200mm, 1400mm, 1600mm, 1800mm, and 2800mm.
