Summer is here, and many denim designers have a special liking for fabrics with good drape, coolness, softness and smoothness. Today, we will introduce the denim Tencel fabrics that meet these requirements for your reference.

First of all, we must know that Tencel is actually a trademark name. The English name Tencel was successfully registered in my country by the Austrian Lenzing Company in 2018. , specifically refers to the man-made fibers produced by the company using wood pulp as raw material. Due to different production processes, there are Tencel Modal and Tencel Lyocell.

So we can see the ingredient label on some clothing tags of denim Tencel fabrics is Tencel Modal or Tencel Lyocell.

Modal and Lyocell refer to different production and processing methods. The fiber produced by the Modal method is called Modal fiber, and the fiber produced by the Lyocell method is called Lyocell. fiber. As for the specific production process, I will not introduce it;

The denim Tencel fabric that everyone often talks about is generally Tencel Lyocell fabric.

Modal fiber and Lyocell fiber are both produced by the solvent method, that is, wood pulp mainly composed of coniferous trees and organic amine oxide solvents are mixed and heated until they are completely dissolved. No derivatives are produced during the dissolution process. The whole process is more environmentally friendly and does not pollute the ecology. It is a truly natural man-made cellulose fiber and a truly green and environmentally friendly product.

Short fiber (fiber length 38mm and 51mm) is commonly used, and cotton fiber is far beyond the reach of even the best Xinjiang cotton.

Around the 1990s, the Austrian Lenzing Company invented the production of beech wood (Austria is located next to the Alps and has abundant wood resources) through dissolution spinning. Fiber, this method is called modal.

Later, the Lyocell production process was extended, and the main material used was eucalyptus.

The same raw materials (eucalyptus, beech, etc.) can be processed into different man-made cellulose fibers using different methods, such as Tencel Modal and Tencel Lyocell.

Just like the cotton yarn we are familiar with, the same cotton can be processed using different processing methods such as rotor spinning, ring spinning, and siro spinning to produce yarns with different structural characteristics. Line coming.

Of course, in addition to Lenzing, there are other companies with Modal and Lyocell Iyocell production technology, but the products produced by other companies cannot be called Tencel Modal and Tencel Lyocell.

This is just like the same spandex, but only DuPont’s can be called Lycra. The meaning of the brand is not only quality and price, but also a symbol of status. It cannot be messed with.

Denim Tencel fabric is a fabric made of Tencel Modal fiber or Tencel Lyocell fiber using the unique production process of denim. It has the following advantages:

1. It overcomes the shortcomings of ordinary viscose fiber’s low strength, especially low wet strength. Its strength is similar to polyester, and its wet strength is higher than cotton fiber. The moisture regain rate of pure cotton is 7-8%, while the moisture regain rate of Tencel is about 11-13%, which is 50% higher. Therefore, in terms of hygroscopicity, Tencel far exceeds pure cotton. In terms of breathability, Tencel is pure cotton. It is 3 times that of cotton, so wearing Tencel jeans in summer will feel particularly comfortable.

2. The cross-sectional structure of Lyocell fiber is uniform and round, and there is no skin or core layer. The longitudinal surface is smooth and has no grooves. The surface is finer than that of pure cotton. The surface roughness of pure cotton is 3.46, while the surface roughness of Lyocell fiber is only 0.628. Therefore, the denim fabric produced has a brighter luster, and people can feel the fit and comfort between the fabric and the skin.

The fibrils are weakly bonded and have no elasticity. If subjected to mechanical friction, the outer layer of the fiber will easily break, forming hairs with a length of about 1 to 4 microns, especially in a wet state. It is more likely to occur under the clothes, and in severe cases, it will become tangled into cotton particles. Lyocell fabric is highly sensitive to temperature and can easily harden in a hot and humid environment, so special attention needs to be paid when washing.

Some people have used pure polyester as the weft yarn to fake Tencel. It is easy to give people a false impression in terms of look and feel. However, polyester fiber does not absorb moisture and is easily brittle when washed. The fakes can only be fooled for a while. Can’t be taken seriously.

3. The washed dimensional stability of denim Tencel fabric is relatively high, and the washing shrinkage is small, generally less than 3%.

4. Denim Tencel fabric absorbs color very well. In addition, light colors are suitable for summer, so dyeing is usually a very ordinary light blue, and dark colors are rarely dyed. of.

In denim clothing, wide-leg pants and denim shirts with high drape requirements are mostly used, giving people a refreshing, elegant and unrestrained feeling.

For denim clothing made of denim Tencel fabric, due to the special nature of the fiber, it is difficult for ordinary washing plants to process it (ordinary washing plants are used to making cotton denim) A more professional master is required to do the washing and water treatment, and special attention should be paid to this.

Personally, I think the name Tencel is such a great one! Purely natural and as smooth as silk, registration also shows that foreigners’ brand awareness is really strong.

I remember a friend once asked, can our denim fabric be used as a brand? This is oneA very good case!

Yarn fiber can be a brand, such as Tencel, Lycra (a brand in spandex), why can’t our denim fabric be a brand?

In fact, most foreign companies that make truly high-end clothing also specify branded fabrics. To be honest, I also hope that our Chinese denim fabric entrepreneurs can take action as soon as possible to create truly authentic products. A denim fabric brand in the sense, not just about cost-effectiveness.

Of course, if your friends have needs in this regard, you can send a private message to the editor to provide you with corresponding reliable water washing plant resources for service.
