Cashmere scarf
Cashmere scarf and shawl are made of cashmere and need to be taken care of carefully. It is recommended that women who have the conditions should use dry cleaning, but they can also be hand-washed without any conditions. Hand-washing high-end cashmere scarves and shawls should be done as follows:
1. Cashmere scarves and shawls are made from a precious goat Made of cashmere raw materials, because cashmere is light, soft, warm and slippery, it is best to wash it separately by hand at home (do not mix it with other clothes); cashmere scarves and shawls of different colors should not be washed together to avoid Staining.
2. Measure the size of the cashmere scarf and shawl before washing. Cashmere scarves and shawls stained with coffee, juice, blood, etc. should be sent to a specialized laundry and dyeing shop for washing.
3. Soak in cold water for 5 to 10 minutes before washing (jacquard or multi-color cashmere scarves should not be soaked), while gently squeezing them in the water with both hands while soaking. The purpose of soaking and squeezing is to make the dirt attached to the inside of the cashmere break away from the fiber and enter the water, and the other part of the dirt is moistened and loosened. After soaking, gently squeeze out the water with both hands, and then put it into a neutral washing liquid of about 35°C and wash it gently with both hands while soaking. Do not wash with hot soapy water, scrub, or use alkaline detergents. Wash with detergent, otherwise shrinkage, felting and deformation will occur. When washing cashmere scarves and shawls at home, you can wash them with shampoo. Because cashmere fiber is a protein fiber, it is afraid of highly alkaline detergents, and shampoos are mostly “mild” neutral detergents.
4. The washed cashmere scarf and shawl need to be “over-acidified” (i.e., the washed cashmere scarf is soaked in a solution containing an appropriate amount of glacial acetic acid) to neutralize the remaining residue. The soap lye in cashmere improves the luster of the fabric and protects the wool fibers. In the “overacidification” process, if glacial acetic acid is not available, edible white vinegar can be used instead, but it needs to be rinsed with water once after overacidification.
5. After rinsing with clean water at about 30℃, you can add the supporting softener according to the instructions, and the hand feeling will be better.
6. Squeeze out the water from the washed cashmere scarf and shawl, put it into a mesh bag and dehydrate it in the dehydration drum of the washing machine.
7. Lay the dehydrated cashmere scarf and shawl flat on a table covered with towels and quilts. Use a ruler to measure to the original size. Arrange it into a prototype by hand and dry it in the shade. Do not hang it to expose it to the sun. .
8. After drying in the shade, use dry hands instead of wet hands. Then use medium-temperature (about 140°C) steam to flatten and iron. Keep the iron and cashmere scarf 0.5 to 1 cm away from each other. Do not press on them. If you use other irons, you must put a wet towel on them.
