Two simple methods that can test flame-retardant Oxford fabrics without instruments: match test method and lighter test method.
Match test method
The match test method can evaluate the flame retardant effect of fire retardant fabrics or relatively compare the flame retardant properties. During the test, take a strip of fabric about 62.5px×750px, use a lit match, place it under the strip sample, burn until the match burns out, and observe the condition or flame-retardant effect of the flame-retardant fabric. Sometimes it can be stipulated that the sample does not burn for more than 5 seconds to be qualified, and if it exceeds the center line or smolders for more than 15 seconds, it is deemed to be unqualified.
Lighter test method
The size of the sample can be determined according to the test needs. A lighter is used as the heat source, and the time is generally 5 seconds. The heat source can be placed in a location similar to the application conditions. After the fire is extinguished, observe the spread of the flame. If the flame spread is not serious, it is qualified.
