The mainstream average price in the East China market was 5,205 yuan/ton, and the average imported supply price was 692.5 US dollars/ton, equivalent to approximately 4,501.25 yuan/ton. In the summer, there are many domestic PTA equipment maintenance and failures. The demand for downstream polyester is maintained, but terminal buying is not good. Moreover, due to the resurgence of the epidemic, sea freight has soared, and PTA import and export freight is high, resulting in insufficient foreign trade orders and domestic trade. The market was light, so PTA import and export volumes dropped slightly in July.
1. Imports

In July 2021, China’s PTA import volume was 2,000 tons, and the import volume dropped slightly by 4,400 tons from June; The average import price was US$692.50/ton, an increase of US$9.30/ton from the average import price in June.

In July 2021, my country’s main PTA importing countries were Taiwan, China and Japan, of which imports from Taiwan, China accounted for 99%, an increase of 34% from June; imports from Japan accounted for 1%, an increase from June The share fell by 31%.

In July 2021, my country’s main imports of PTA were Shanghai and Shandong Province. Shanghai’s imports accounted for 99% in July, an increase of 34% from June; Shandong Province’s imports in July accounted for 1 % increased by 1% compared with June’s import share.
2. Exports

my country’s PTA export volume in July 2021 was 191,000 tons , the average export price is US$685/ton. Export volume in July decreased by 29,000 tons compared with June, and increased by 141,000 tons compared with July last year.

In July 2021, my country’s main PTA export countries are Oman, Vietnam, India, Spain, Turkey and the Russian Federation. Accounting for 78% of my country’s total PTA exports, my country’s exports to Oman increased in July, while exports to Vietnam, India, Spain, Turkey and the Russian Federation decreased slightly.

In July 2021, the main provinces for China’s PTA exports were Liaoning Province and Jiangsu Province, followed by Fujian Province, Guangdong Province, and Shandong Province.
