Even during the May Day holiday, most textile workers are still working hard at their jobs. The market situation is changing rapidly, and the following may be things that cloth bosses need to pay close attention to after the holiday.

Is the price of polyester going up?

In the past two weeks, due to the price fluctuation of PTA and the downturn in the terminal weaving industry, the price of polyester filament has dropped again and again. The price reduction range of products of various specifications is basically More than 500 yuan/ton.

However, as the end of the month approaches, with the regular invoicing and replenishment activities of weaving manufacturers at the end of the month, coupled with the promotion and profit sharing of polyester manufacturers, on April 29, polyester The production and sales of filament yarn have finally reached 120%, which has been rare in recent times, and some factories have even reached 200%.

Sure enough, affected by this, on April 30, the price of polyester filament, which had been slowly falling, finally began to rebound slightly. Of course, since it is the first day of increase, the range is not large. It is basically a small move such as 100-200 yuan/ton or reducing the promotion range.

Why do polyester manufacturers do this?

First of all, the price of PTA continues to be high. Whether it is the drop in oil prices or the collapse of PX, the price of PTA is as stable as Mount Tai. The spot price of PTA has been fluctuating around 6,500 yuan. Recently, as the demand for terminal weaving has gradually weakened, PTA factories have resorted to equipment maintenance.

We can see from the above table that after May, due to the shutdown for maintenance, the already tight PTA production capacity will become even more scarce. Things are rare and expensive, and it is even more difficult to reduce the price of PTA.

The second is the profit of polyester. The price of raw material PTA has not dropped, but the price of polyester has dropped sharply in a short period of time, which means that all the losses are profits. Even if polyester manufacturers can still afford it now, if it keeps falling, there will always be a day when profits bottom out.

Therefore, it is time to take advantage of the end of the month when a large number of weaving companies are stocking up, and slightly increase the price to prepare for the next stage of sales.

Besides, when the price of PTA did not drop, polyester yarn had already dropped so much. If the price does not increase, wouldn’t the polyester big guys lose face?

Is the dyeing fee rising again?

Everyone knows that due to production safety reasons, the price of dyes has risen a bit exaggeratedly recently.

Among the more commonly used dyes, disperse black ETC 300% has increased from 38 yuan/kg to 70 yuan/kg, S-GL Cuilan has increased from 160 yuan/kg to 500 yuan/kg, and ZBLH blue 100 Yuan/kg has increased to 350 yuan/kg, ruby has increased from 30 yuan/kg to 60 yuan/kg, and red has increased from 30 yuan/kg to 60 yuan/kg.

It can be seen that the extent of this price increase is no longer exaggerated. The price of some dyes has even increased by more than 200%.

If it is a larger dyeing factory that stocks dyes for 3-6 months all year round, it may still have some resistance to such exaggerated increases in dyes, but if it is a small dyeing factory, it will Not so lucky, and there is even a risk of loss.

But the rise of dyes seems to be far from over.

In recent times, in addition to the problem of deliberately inflating prices, middlemen, salesmen and even some production companies themselves are also “hoarding goods”. What’s more, some would rather pay liquidated damages than Delivery in accordance with contract.

As people in the industry, it goes without saying that middlemen, salesmen, etc. are very sensitive to dye prices. Since they dare to do this, it proves that the price of dyes will most likely rise again in the future.

Of course, after the emergence of measures to suspend production and rectify the dye production industry, there is indeed still a huge room for speculation.

However, in this case, printing and dyeing companies will be uncomfortable.

At present, because the number of market orders is not as expected, the business of dyeing factories is not satisfactory, and dyeing fees have only increased slightly. Fabric companies can still bear such an increase for the time being. But if the next wave of dye increases is hyped again, things will be completely different.

For dyeing factories, the choice now is between raising prices and making less money, but if the price of dyes increases again, it will be aThis is a situation where you will lose money if you don’t increase the price.

As for cloth bosses, they must also be prepared for dyeing costs to continue to rise in the coming period.

Is this year’s off-season more difficult than in previous years?

Any textile person who has been working in the market for many years will know that after May, as spring and summer clothing orders gradually decrease, the market will slowly enter the off-season.

But what is different from previous years is that in the past off-season, due to poor market conditions, whether it was raw materials or processing fees, let alone falling, there would always be a relatively stable price unless something unexpected happened. situation.

But the situation may change a lot this year. After May, the price of dyeing fees will most likely rise, and the increase may not be small; at the same time, the current price of polyester yarn continues to fall. You may not be able to enjoy the “benefits”; in addition, since April this year, the order situation in the market has not been as expected.

In the days to come, I hope textile people will do well and cherish it.
